Welcome to NREI’s 12th annual Best of the Best compendium of surveys. On the following pages, you’ll find a comprehensive look at the state of commercial real estate. We list the biggest players by property type as well as the largest lenders, brokerage firms and property managers. In addition, there are lists of the developers of industrial and office space, although activity remains muted on those fronts. There have been a few changes in some of the lists from a year ago. Mergers in some sectors have reshuffled the deck and vaulted firms up the ranks. In other cases, divestments by some large players have opened space for competitors.
Still, the picture is largely stable from a year ago. Many of the same firms have retained their top spots and there are few newcomes on any of the lists.
