The mall food court has come a long way in the past decade or two. Just compare this recent project at Yorkdale Shooping Centre, which won our 2013 SAID Award for best adaptive reuse of a big-box space, with this gallery of empty food courts at malls constructed in the 1970s and 1980s posted by Gawker.
