Wal-Mart to Open its Smallest Store Yet

The retailer known for being super-sized will be launching a 2,500-sq.-ft. mini-location on the campus of Georgia Tech University, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The store will sell basic groceries, general merchandise, health and beauty aids, pharmacy items and will offer check cashing and bill paying services.

Dubbed Walmart on Campus the store is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2013.

According to Steven Restivo, senior director of community affairs with Wal-Mart:

“We have become more flexible in our approach and, at the end of the day, want the store size and merchandise mix to be a reflection of the community."
