The retailer known for being super-sized will be launching a 2,500-sq.-ft. mini-location on the campus of Georgia Tech University, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The store will sell basic groceries, general merchandise, health and beauty aids, pharmacy items and will offer check cashing and bill paying .
Dubbed Walmart on Campus the store is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2013.
According to Steven Restivo, senior director of community affairs with Wal-Mart:
“We have become more flexible in our approach and, at the end of the day, want the store size and merchandise mix to be a reflection of the community."
