MIPIM Awards

Energy-efficient projects figure prominently in the 2008 MIPIM Awards nominations, honoring outstanding real estate projects from around the world. Winners, chosen by MIPIM 2008 attendees, will be announced at the awards ceremony to be held on March 13 at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France. The MIPIM awards jury includes professionals from the international real estate community.

An ING Real Estate Development project in Amsterdam in The Netherlands is competing with a new United States Census Bureau headquarters in Suitland, Md., developed by the U.S. General Services Administration. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP was the project architect. Pines Calyx Center in Dover, in the United Kingdom, is also in the running for the green building award. Its concept development and design was by Real-Heath Ventures.

There has been $30.3 billion in new CMBS issuance to date in 2013, according to Commercial Mortgage Alert. That puts the industry on pace to smash last year’s volume of $48.4 billion and will make 2013 the busiest year for CMBS issuance since 2007.
