MusicDirect Buys Temp-Controlled Warehouse in Ravenswood

CHICAGO—MusicDirect, an online-only instrument retailer, has purchased a 25,000-sq.-ft. industrial facility here at 1811 W. Bryn Mawr in the Ravenswood neighborhood for $1.2 million.

The buyer purchased the facility for the expansion of the company’s operations from Chicago’s West Loop, said Mark Nelson with NelsonHill. “The acquisition represents a strong expansion for MusicDirect, which needed a rare temperature controlled building to support their specialized music operation,” Nelson said in a statement.

The seller of the property was Vin Divino, a company that specializes in importing and distributing wine from Italy, Austria and Chile. Mark Nelson and Michael Nelson with NelsonHill represented the buyer, MusicDirect, in the transaction and Frank Melchert of NelsonHill worked on behalf of the seller.
