BrightFarms Takes 45,000 Sq. Ft. at Bradley Business Center in Chicago

CHICAGO—BrightFarms has signed a 45,000-sq.-ft. lease to occupy a one-acre rooftop space at the newly renovated Bradley Business Center, a 350,000-sq.-ft. joint venture of Centrum Partners and Hansen Realty, which is slated to open later this month. With its lease, BrightFarms will have the largest rooftop farm in Chicago.

New York City-based BrightFarms will build a hydroponic greenhouse farm on its rooftop space. The company builds commercial-scale greenhouse farms across the U.S. and partners with local farmers to manage greenhouses. BrightFarms also works with local supermarkets to sell its produce year-round.

Located at 2500 West Bradley Place in Chicago’s North Center neighborhood, the Bradley Business Center is a two-story facility that offers Class A office space. The property has a two-story, glass atrium, an audio/visual room, fitness room, outdoor basketball court, locker room facilities, café and more. The property offers bike racks and 435 parking spaces for commuters.
