Citadel Renews Top Six Floors at Namesake Tower

CHICAGOCitadel LLC has renewed its 222,416-square-foot lease in the top six floors at the 39-story Citadel Center office tower near the center of the downtown at the corner of Dearborn and Adams.

The 1.4-million-square-foot building opened in 2003 with Citadel as its anchor tenant. Dearborn Capital Group, the owner of the building, said the lease is long-term, but did not divulge the exact lease timeframe. The building also hosts tenants J.P. Morgan Chase and three major law firms, Seyfarth Shaw, Holland & Knight and Perkins Coie.

“We are very pleased that Citadel has reconfirmed its commitment to its namesake building,” said Oren Richland, a principal with Dearborn Capital, in a statement. He said given Citadel’s diversified financial services and investment businesses, the building’s technology infrastructure and raised floors were critical in the renewal decision.

Dearborn Capital was represented by Brian Whiting of the Telos Group LLC working together with Mark Baby with J.F. McKinney & Associates Ltd. Citadel was represented by Todd Lippman with CBRE’s downtown Chicago office, working jointly with John Nugent and Andrew Sussman with CBRE’s New York office.
