Cole Real Estate Picks Up Illinois Shopping Center

HILLSIDE, ILL.—Cole Real Estate Investments, based in Phoenix, Ariz., has purchased Hillside Town Center, a 165,000-sq.-ft. center in Hillside, Ill. for $27 million. Cole was represented by Holmes. The seller was represented by Joe Girardi, vice president at Mid-America Real Estate.

Located approximately 13 miles west of Chicago’s central business district, Hillside Town Center is situated along Interstate-290. Built in 2009, the center includes such tenants as HomeGoods, Michael’s, Staples and Petco.

In addition to the Illinois center added to Cole’s portfolio, the company also recently acquired White Oak Village, a 433,500-sq.-ft. property in Richmond, Va. For $68 million and Barrow Crossing, a 276,000-sq.-ft. property in Winder, Ga. For $35.9 million.

Year-to-date, the company has added more than $650 million of multi-tenant retail to its portfolio.
