DSW Steps Up for 28,000 Sq. Ft. of Retail Space

RIVER FOREST, ILL.—Ohio-based DSW Inc. signed a lease to occupy 28,000 sq. ft. of space at River Forest Town Center in Chicago’s west suburbs. The publicly held shoe retailer is taking space vacated by Linens ‘n Things and plans to open in fall 2012 as a new anchor joining The Children’s Place, The Loft, Chico’s, Whole Foods, Panera Bread, Petco and Walgreens.

Oakbrook Terrace-based Mid-America Asset Management Inc. Vice President Liz Krebs represented the landlord in the lease, while Mike Schertler of Tartan Realty and Scott Stefanik at Midwest Commercial Realty represented the tenant.

River Forest Center is located at the southwest corner of Lake Street and Harlem Avenue in River Forest, and is situated approximately one mile north of the Eisenhower/Harlem Avenue interchange.
