Investors New to Ohio Make First Purchase Kettering Tower

DAYTON—Plainview, N.Y.-based Dunkirk Realty has purchased Dayton’s Kettering Tower located at 40 N. Main St. Dunkirk Realty will acquire the property with investment partners under Tower Partners LLC.

A family-owned commercial real estate firm owned by Albert Macanian and his sons, Dunkirk Realty’s Kettering Tower purchase is the company’s first foray into Ohio.

Tower Partners plans improvements to the building, which includes new lighting and furniture in the lobby, updated interior and building improvements, such as roof replacement and a refurbished exterior.

Comprised of 29 stories, Kettering Tower totals 486,121 sq. ft. of Class A office space and has been the tallest office tower since it was constructed in 1971.

Current tenants at the property include the Hospice of Dayton Foundation, Johnson Investment Council and CPR Medical, among others.

Macanian and his investment partners own more than 10 million square feet of property throughout the United States and abroad. Their portfolio includes office, retail, warehouse and flex properties in such markets as New York City, south Florida, southern California and Europe.
