McShane Construction Tapped for Supportive Living Development in Champaign, Ill.

ROSEMONT, ILL.—Eden Supportive Living, a new 150-unit studio and one-bedroom supportive living development in Champaign, Ill., has selected McShane Construction Company to provide construction and renovation services. Absolute Architecture PC is providing the architectural services for the assignment, which is slated for completion in May 2013.

Located at 222 North State Street, McShane Construction will renovate the existing five-story building on the site to use as the base structure for the to-be-developed eight-story residence. In addition, McShane Construction will expand the current facility and add a 40,000-sq.-ft., eight-story tower to be located at the north end of the property.

During construction, McShane Construction will complete a two-story, glass atrium, waterfall cascade and a reflection pond.

Upon completion, Eden Supportive Living will provide 117,000 sq. ft. of living and amenity space to support 150 residents. Amenities planned include multiple lounges, full-service kitchen and dining, library, theater, cyber café, activity center, medical suite and laundry facility. Housing, nursing support, wellness programs, daily meals and 24-hour emergency support will also be available.
