MUNDELEIN, ILL.—Mundelein-based Medline Industries has purchased 20 acres of raw land in Maumelle, Ark. for more than $1.3 million with plans to build a 100,000-sq.-ft. distribution center on the property. Mark A. Bingman, executive broker, Rector Phillips Morse Inc./CORFAC International, represented the seller, Burkhalter Properties LLC of North Little Rock, Ark. in the transaction.
Construction on the facility is expected to begin this fall. Once completed in the late spring of 2013, the facility will service Medline's health care customers, including hospitals, nursing homes, surgery centers and home care agencies throughout the state of Arkansas.
The property is located on Burkhalter Industrial Drive in Burkhalter Industrial Park, near Highway 365 and Interstate 40.
The distribution center will be Medline's 37th in the U.S. and will undergo LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification review for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings.
