WOODRIDGE, ILL.—Maruichi Leavitt Pipe and Tube L.L.C. has selected Morgan/Harbour to complete a 31,286-sq.-ft. expansion for the company’s Chicago space at 1717 West 115th Street. Morgan/Harbour was selected for the project by construction manager Maeda Corporation, a Tokyo-based construction/engineering firm that has a regional office in Livonia, Mich.
Located at 1717 W. 115th Street in Chicago’s South Side, Maruichi Leavitt Pipe and Tube is headquartered in Chicago and operates 10 tubing mills throughout Chicago and Jackson, Miss. The expansion to the manufacturing facility features a 34-ft.-high precast concrete shell, structural steel for a 10-ton bridge crane, and foundations to support new production machinery. The new expansion will also use tube steel provided by Maruichi Leavitt Pipe and Tube for the structure.
Ben Warriner, vice president of construction, is the project executive and Scott Heguy is the project manager. Dan Glombicki of Morgan/Harbour is the project superintendent and Harris Architects is providing the design services. Construction is scheduled for completion in late fall of this year.
