Target to Open New Store in Chicago

CHICAGOTarget has announced plans to open a new store in Chicago next October, which will be located on West Division and North Larrabee Streets.

The new Chicago store will total approximately 190,000 sq. ft. The store will include a produce, meat and baked goods area.

"In Chicago, we are committed to attracting companies who are willing to invest in our neighborhoods, create jobs for our residents and improve quality of life in the city," said Mayor Rahm Emanuel. "There will be 200 new jobs at this Target, to add to the thousands of employees already working for Target in Chicago, advancing the fortunes and opportunity for the neighborhood."

Based in Minneapolis, Target Corporation has more than 1,700 stores across the U.S. In 2013, the company plans to open its first locations in Canada.
