AIA-NJ’s 14th Annual Canstruction Event Slated for Sept. 20

NEW JERSEY—The New Jersey Chapter of the American Institute of Architects’ (AIA-NJ) Newark and suburban section will hold its annual Canstruction event at the Livingston Mall in Livingston on September 20. The annual design exhibition benefits local food bank programs.

The New Jersey exhibition is part of a national event that asks teams of architects, engineers, contractors and designers, as well as students mentored by these professionals, to design and build structures made from canned food.

An eight-hour build day is set for September 20, after which structures will be judged at an awards gala on Friday, September 21.

The event is held under the auspices of the Society for Design Administration, a national professional organization affiliated with the AIA.
