Avidan Unveils 2.2-MW Solar Project at 180 Raritan Center Parkway in Edison

NEW JERSEYAvidan Management has unveiled its solar power project at 180 Raritan Center Parkway in Edison, a 350,000-sq.-ft. dry and freezer storage facility.

The 2.2-megawatt solar electrical system will, over its lifespan, reduce carbon emissions by 48,573 tons, and will provide more than 90 percent of the facility’s power needs.

The installation is part of PSE&G’s Solar Loan Program, which makes solar energy systems accessible to building and facility owners in PSE&G’s service territory. The program is designed to encourage the development and installation of clean, renewable energy technologies throughout New Jersey.

In addition to the solar installation, Avidan recently completed other upgrades at 180 Raritan Center Parkway, including re-insulating refrigeration piping, repainting the building’s exterior, replacing dolly pads for the warehouse and retrofitting the lobby with LED lighting. The company also installed automation controls on the facility’s freezer units.

Set on 16 acres, the 180 Raritan Center Parkway has up to 28,800 sq. ft. allocated for office space and features reinforced concrete floors, 24-ft. to 18-ft. clear ceiling heights, 24 exterior doors with dock levelers and on-site parking.

Located near Interchange 10 of the New Jersey Turnpike, Route I-287, Route 440, the building includes tenants such as Rema Foods/Jacobson Companies, Cross Docks Solutions LLC and Broadrange Technologies, among others. Currently, approximately 1,271 sq. ft. of space is available for lease.

This project is the second solar installation in which Avidan has partnered with PSE&G.
