Citizen Schools Takes 3,000 Sq. Ft. in Newark for Office Space

NEW JERSEY—Citizen Schools has leased 3,000 sq. ft. of space at 570 Broad in Newark. Managed and operated by The Berger Organization, the property will serve as Citizen Schools’ New Jersey offices for its development, volunteer and administrative teams.

The Berger Organization maintains a controlling interest in 570 Broad Street LLC, the partnership that owns 570 Broad. Ownership has recently invested in the property, updating technology capabilities, installing high-speed elevators, HVAC and security systems and high-speed fiber optics.

Currently, the property is undergoing further improvements, which call for the addition of parking, a conference room and fitness center.

Located across from Washington Square Park, 570 Broad is in close proximity to Newark Penn Station and Broad Street Station, as well as Prudential Center and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.

Founded in 1995, Citizen Schools is a network of 32 middle school partner sites in low-income communities across eight states.
