Motorola Mobility Takes 527,000 Sq. Ft. at Vornado’s Merchandise Mart Building in Chicago

NEW JERSEY—New Jersey-based Vornado has signed Motorola Mobility at Chicago’s Merchandise Mart Building, which it acquired in 1998.

Motorola Mobility signed a lease to occupy 572,000 sq. ft. at the Merchandise Mart, which is expected to commence in early 2013.

Totaling 3.5 million sq. ft., the Merchandise Mart is LEED Certified and spans two city blocks with 200,000-sq.-ft. floors. Built by Marshall Field Company, the Mart opened in 1930.

Motorola Mobility, owned by Google, creates mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets; wireless accessories; end-to-end video and data delivery; and management solutions, including set-tops and data-access devices.
