Relocation of SHI International Earns JLL a 2012 Impact Award

NEW JERSEY—Jones Lang LaSalle was part of a team recently honored with the 2012 Impact Award from the United Way of Northern New Jersey in recognition of its Brokerage and Project and Development Services (PDS) groups’ roles in the relocation of SHI International from Piscataway to 290 Davidson Avenue in Somerset.

In addition to Jones Lang LaSalle, members of the project team that received the Impact Award included SHI President and CEO Thai Lee; Cornerstone Architectural Group LLC; Brecht Engineering and Turner Construction Company and Unity Construction Services.

Recognizing the real estate transaction that had the greatest positive impact in the region within the last year, the Impact Award was given during United Way’s 13th annual Commercial Real Estate Network Legacy Luncheon.

One of New Jersey’s largest interior commercial renovations of 2011, the project included comprehensive infrastructure improvements.

Jones Lang LaSalle’s PDS group managed every aspect of the 15-month relocation.

290 Davidson Avenue includes two, five-story towers connected on the main floor, as well as a third ancillary building. The interior workspaces follow the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED guidelines, and the roof is equipped with solar panels capable of generating 500 kilowatts of electricity annually that could offset SHI’s power consumption by as much as 15 percent.
