Bloomsbury Publishing Inks Long-Term Lease at 1385 Broadway

NEW YORK—Bloomsbury Publishing Inc., the publisher of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series, has signed a long-term lease to occupy 23,500 sq. ft. of space at 1385 Broadway. The publisher will occupy the entire fifth floor at the property.

Colliers International's Leon Manoff, vice chairman, arranged the transaction on behalf of the tenant, which is the U.S. subsidiary of Bloomsbury Publishing Plc., an independent publisher of fiction and non-fiction works. Jonathan Serko and Diana Gaines of Cushman & Wakefield represented the landlord in the transaction.

Comprised of 435,000 sq. ft., 1385 Broadway will allow Bloomsbury to consolidate several New York City offices into one location. The publisher is slated to move to the new space in early 2013.
