Gastropub Opens First Upper East Side Location

NEW YORK CITY—The owners of gastropubs The Wren and others plan to open a new gastropub at 1590 Second Avenue, the former home of Ship of Fools.

The new tenant is occupying 2,300 sq. ft. at ground level and an additional 1,700 sq. ft. on the lower level. The ownership plans to open another gastropub similar in décor and fare as its four other city locations.

Along with Bua in the East Village and Astoria’s Sweet Afton, the operators also own Wilfie & Nell in the West Village and most recently opened The Wren on the Bowery.

The tenants were represented by Michael Hayes of Boxers Realty. The owner, Eberhart Brothers, was represented by Newmark Knight Frank.
