Gene Kaufman Designing 200,000-SF Mixed-Use Project

BROOKLYN—Gene Kaufman Architect P.C. is designing a project at 500 Metropolitan Avenue in Brooklyn's Williamsburg. The 15-story, 200,000-square-foot mixed-use development is slated to combine 189 hotel rooms, 58 luxury residences and street-level retail shops.

GKA has contributed to the Williamsburg landscape with pivotal projects such as Shaefer Landing, Luxe 226, The Dunham, The Lucent and The Rialto. Most recently, GKA designed the luxury boutique hotel and condominiums known as the Hotel Williamsburg and the Residences at the Williamsburg.

The site at the corner of Metropolitan Avenue and Keap Street, an extremely irregular parcel pressed between the BQE, a major avenue and a subway stop, will be accommodated by setting the building at an angle that framing a Manhattan skyline view from all floors.
