Havas Commits to 200 and 205 Hudson Street

NEW YORK—Havas, a digital advertising and communications firm, has signed a 15-year, 260,000-sq.-ft. lease at 200 and 205 Hudson Street. The firm will occupy seven floors of 200 Hudson Street and one floor at 205 Hudson Street. The new location will allow the firm to bring together more than 1,100 staff from its agency groups that are currently housed in different locations throughout New York City. Havas plans to move into its new space in early 2013 after significant design upgrades are complete.

Havas is working with TPG Architecture to design the space. Plans include office areas, meeting rooms, an in-house production facility, innovation laboratory, theater and café. The lobby of 200 Hudson Street will also be redesigned to reflect Havas’ brand.

TPG Architecture has been working with the advertising and communications firm for nearly two years to select its new space. David Falk of Newmark Knight Frank represented the owner of the properties, Trinity Church.

Both 200 Hudson Street and 205 Hudson Street are located at the intersection of Hudson and Canal Streets and are easily accessible to the 1, C and E subway lines.

200 Hudson Street features on-site management and security and was constructed in 1926. The building comprises 12 floors totaling 386,320 sq. ft.

205 Hudson Street also comprises 12 floors, but offers 400,996 sq. ft. of space. The building was constructed in 1928.

Havas is a global advertising and communications services group headquartered in Paris. The company operates two business units, Havas Worldwide and Havas Media.

Founded in 1979, TPG Architecture has offices in New York City, Long Island and London. Other clients of the firm include HBO, HSBC and DKNY, among others.
