Partnership Breaks Ground on Condo Development in East Village

NEW YORK—Development partners Ironstate Development Company, Abe and Scott Shnay and Charles Blaichman have broken ground on a new 83-home condominium building at 211 East 13th Street between 2nd and 3rd avenues in Manhattan’s East Village. The joint venture has hired The Marketing Directors Inc. to serve as exclusive sales and marketing firm for the building once it is completed.

Upon delivery, the development will offer studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units in an eight-story building. Units will contain 500 to 1,880 sq. ft with more than 9-ft. high ceilings. One-third of the units will include outdoor space.

Amenities available to residents include a 24-hour attended lobby, lounges, fitness room and library. A landscaped rooftop terrace with outdoor kitchen, trellis and planted seating areas are also planned.

In addition to its residential component, the property will include 4,500 sq. ft. of ground-floor retail.

Situated on the site of Jefferson Theatre, the new condominium building is being designed by Manhattan-based BKSK Architects. The property is being designed to achieve LEED Silver certification or higher.
