Ashley Furniture Takes Vacancy at Eastland Center

WEST COVINA, CA—Ashley Furniture HomeStore has moved into the former Babies ‘R’ Us building, a 42,000-sq.-ft. freestanding property at Eastland Center here.

The Hodgdon Group handled all entitlements and served as the design-build contractor for the project at 2753 E. Eastland Center Drive. The 805,000-sq.-ft. retail power center is anchored by a new Walmart Supercenter, Target, Burlington Coat Factory, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Bed Bath & Beyond, Marshalls, Old Navy, Ross, PetSmart and others. Phoenix-based Cole Real Estate Investments manages the property.

"The City of West Covina was very helpful in fast-tracking approvals to accommodate our very compressed construction schedule," says Aaron Hodgdon, president of Hodgdon, in a statement. "We completed the interior demolition, build out and the construction of the new exterior facade in one of our fastest turnovers.”

Hodgdon Group is also handling the construction of the Ashley Furniture HomeStore in Montclair, Calif., in the former Border Books & Music building. KTGY Group is the project architect for Montclair Ashley Furniture.
