GBT Realty Corp. will develop the Village on Pooler Parkway, a 143,000-sq.-ft. retail center in Pooler, Ga.
TJ Maxx, Ross Dress for Less, Michaels and PetSmart will anchor the project. Inline tenants will include Rack Room Shoes, Moe’s Southwest, Jersey Mikes and Palm Beach Tan.
GBT plans to complete the center in the first quarter of 2014.
“We are pleased to bring a great national tenant lineup to this north Savannah regional market area,” said Fraser Schaufele, vice president of leasing for GBT, in a statement. “We are currently working with other tenant prospects to occupy the remaining inline space and will be announcing additional retailers very soon.”
Rams Plaza Completes $1.5M Renovation Project
Rams Plaza Associates LLC, a joint venture including The Kalikow Group, completed a $1.5 million renovation of Rams Plaza, a 113,000-sq.-ft. grocery-anchored shopping center in Chapel Hill, N.C.
The project included upgrades to the property’s façade, cornices, building structures, interior courtyard and parking areas.
Finley Design+ Interiors served as the architect for the renovation.
Planet Fitness Comes to Desert Sky Festival Mall
Planet Fitness signed a lease with WestFest Inc. for a 34,162-sq.-ft. store at Desert Sky Festival Mall in Phoenix. Judi Butterworth, of Velocity Retail Group, and Paul Serafin, of De Rito Partners, represented the landlord in the transaction. Shelby Tworek, of NAI Horizon, represented the tenant.
In an unrelated transaction, Velocity Retail Group represented Mega Furniture USA in a 25,760-sq.-ft. lease with CP Center 05 LLC/ACF Properties for a store at Costco Plaza in Tempe, Ariz. David Cheatham represented Mega Furniture. Jason Fessinger, of Strategic Retail Group, represented the landlord.
Pet Valu Expands on Long Island
Pet Valu signed three leases on Long Island, including a 4,800-sq.-ft. lease for a former Blockbuster space at Nicholls Plaza in South Setauket, a 3,840-sq.-ft. lease for a former Blockbuster space at CVS Shopping Center in Oyster Bay and a 3,100-sq.-ft. lease for a former Sleepy’s space at New Hyde Park Commons in New Hyde Park. Jayson Siano and Melissa Naeder, of Sabre Real Estate Group LLC, represented Pet Valu in the transactions.
KINGS Bowl Comes to 3rd Ave. in Massachusetts
KINGS Bowl signed a 27,250-sq.-ft. lease with the Nordblom Co. for a location at 3rd Ave., a 4.6-million-sq.-ft. mixed-use center in Burlington, Mass.
Crossroads Cos. LLC hired Carlo J. Caparruva as executive vice president of leasing services. In his new position, Caparruva will oversee all leasing activity related to the company’s development projects, existing portfolio and third party real estate services. Prior to joining Crossroads, he served as director with Fameco Real Estate LP.
Sperry Van Ness hired Craig Franzen in its downtownoffice. Franzen specializes in landlord and tenant representation and retail investment sales. Previously, he held a position with a national commercial real estate services firm. In the past, he also co-founded GTC Investments LLC, a real estate investment and development company.
FRCH hired Doug Frick as business development manager in its specialty retailstudio and Emily Hamilton as marketing specialist. Previously, Frick worked in the sales and management department at Nordstrom. Hamilton worked as director of digital media and marketing with Wolfe Domain.
The Goldstein Group hired Jessica Vergottini as director of marketing. In her new position, Vergottini will oversee all marketing, communications and property marketing services. She has more than seven years of experience. Prior to joining the Goldstein Group, she served as office manager and assistant to the creative services department at HDR, an architectural engineering firm.
