Edens & Avant started construction on Forest Park, a 53,300-sq.-ft. neighborhood shopping center in Greenville, S.C. Opening is scheduled for the summer of 2008.

Opus West opened Phase I of Hill Country Gallery, a 1.3-million-sq.-ft. lifestyle development in Bee Cave, Texas. Phase I features 650,000 sq. ft. of retail, 145,000 sq. ft. of office space, 300,000 sq. ft. of multifamily residential space and 50 acres of green space.

Hanley Investment Group Real Estate Advisors appointed Carlos J. Lopez as president of Hanley Investment Urban Retail Advisors. Lopez has more than 17 years of experience in retail investment sales and leasing. Prior to joining Hanley Investment Group, he served as managing director with Reza Investment Group.

Buchanan Street Partners appointed Robert Clark as CFO. Clark has 20 years of experience in commercial real estate. Prior to joining Buchanan Street Partners, he served as executive vice president of capital markets with SkanlanKemperBard.

Macerich Company opened SanTan Village, a 1.2-million-sq.-ft. open-air hybrid center in Gilbert, Ariz. The center is positioned at the core of a 500-acre mixed-use development.

Phillips Edison & Co. appointed David Birdsall as chief development officer. Prior to joining Phillips Edison, Birdsall served as vice president of investments for the Midwest region with Regency Centers.

Donahue Schriber started construction on Smoke Tree Village, a $4 million, 177,000-sq.-ft. community shopping center in Palm Springs, Calif. Completion is scheduled for March 2008.

Charles S. Cohen completed a $45 million renovation of the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, Calif. A number of designers recently moved into the property, including Ralph Pucci, Paul Ferrante and Thomas Lavin.

Opus West started construction on the Commons at Chino Hills, a $150 million, 500,000-sq.-ft. power center in Chino Hills, Calif. Completion is scheduled for late summer 2008.

CBL & Associates Properties, Inc. completed Cobblestone Village, a 278,000-sq.-ft. community center in Palm Coast, Fla.

Atwell-Hicks appointed Daniel E. McNulty as chief operating officer. In his new role, McNulty will focus on managing top client growth and financial metrics, as well as providing overall direction on operational issues. He previously served as vice president.

Opus North Corp. opened Burr Ridge Village Center, a 20-acre lifestyle/mixed-use development in Rosemont, Ill. The project features 200,000 sq. ft. of retail space, 196 luxury residential units and 37,000 sq. ft. of office condo space.

Centro Properties Group will renovate and redevelop Surrey Square Mall, a 176,433-sq.-ft. partially enclosed mall in Norwood, Ohio. The mall will be turned into a multi-anchored shopping center.

CBL & Associates Properties, Inc. and Ewing Southeast Realty will develop Statesboro Crossing, a 162,000-sq.-ft. shopping center in Statesboro, Ga. Construction will begin during the fourth quarter 2007, with the opening scheduled for fall 2008.
