CB Richard Ellis Installs Capital Markets Co-President as it Makes Key Leadership Changes

CB Richard Ellis Group (CBRE) is making major changes in its leadership lineup. The company has announced that Chris Ludeman will join Brian Stoffers as co-president of the firm's Capital Markets businesses.

In his expanded role, Ludeman will provide leadership for the company's office, industrial and retail investment properties efforts along with its institutional group, Global Property Advisors and private client group activities.

Stoffers will continue to lead CBRE's debt and equity finance, agency and loan servicing businesses, as well as oversee the company’s multihousing, lodging and investment banking practices. Ludeman will continue as president of the firm’s Americas brokerage, overseeing CBRE's tenant rep and agency leasing business lines.

CBRE has also promoted Spencer Levy to executive managing director, expanding his responsibilities within the capital markets group as a key client service and business development leader. Levy will continue to co-manage CBRE's restructuring and recovery services activities, oversee its auction practice and direct capital markets strategic accounts in coordination with asset services and brokerage.

More changes on the way
In addition, within the next few months CBRE will appoint capital markets practice leaders in the office, industrial and retail property sectors as well supplement the firm's multi-housing practice with the addition of an investment sales practice leader, the company said. Additionally, a production leader for the Debt and Equity Finance practice will be announced shortly.

"Great organizations are committed to continuous improvement and these appointments further strengthen our Capital Markets platform and client service capabilities, "said Mike Lafitte, president of CB Richard Ellis. "CBRE is intensely focused on delivering the highest quality service for our clients, and that commitment starts with having the best leaders."

The strengthening of the brokerage leadership during the past few years, including last year's addition of John Frager, an office market specialist, to the brokerage leadership team of Anthony Buono, a retail specialist, and Ed Schreyer, industrial, enables Ludeman to devote a significant portion of his time to expanding the depth and breadth of CBRE's Capital Markets business, according to the company.

During his nearly 30 years with CBRE, Ludeman has served in several key management roles, including president, transaction management and global corporate services. Before his national and international roles, Ludeman served in several regional and local market leadership positions across the country.

As senior managing Director in Capital Markets, Levy has been responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of more than 300 investment sales and debt/equity finance professionals in the Eastern region of the U.S. He also co-leads with Ken Pearson CBRE's recovery and restructuring services, which services financial institutions and government entities with real estate services required for both REO and whole loan assets.
