Colliers Cauble, McDonald smokin' on the southside

Atlanta-based McDonald Development Co. has signed a deal with Chicago-based Quaker Oats Co. for a 496,000 sq. ft. build-to-suit, while locally based Colliers Cauble has negotiated the sale of two buildings on behalf of Chicago-based DSC Logistics.

McDonald will build Quaker Oats' distribution center at the Westlake development in south Fulton County. Quaker Oats will relocate from a Dekalb County distribution center and expects the new facility to be fully operational by second-quarter 2001.

Near Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport, DSC Logistics sold a 425,000 sq. ft. building and a 370,000 sq. ft. structure to San Francisco-based AMB Property Corp. Locally based Seefried Properties will lease and manage the property for AMB. DSC will vacate the larger of the two buildings, but will continue to occupy a portion of the 370,000 sq. ft. facility. With the transaction, AMB owns 3.7 million sq. ft. near the Atlanta airport and a total of 6.5 million sq. ft. of distribution space in metro Atlanta.

Along with Colliers Cauble, Chicago-based Colliers Bennett & Kahnweiler represented DSC.
