NAMES IN THE NEWS

DONALD A. EDRINGTON has been appointed vice president of The Staubach Co.'s new retail services office in Denver. Edrington specializes in retail tenant representation and shopping center leasing, previously holding the position of associate broker with SullivanHayes Brokerage Corp. The Staubach Co. is based in Dallas.

CECILIA A. MOWATT has been hired as the first international president of GVA Worldwide to focus specifically on client management, new business development and increasing international services. Mowatt comes to GVA Worldwide from McDonald's Corp., where she handled business development in the U.S. acquisitions department.

DAN SMITH has been named senior vice president of the North America debt business for Stamford, Conn.-based GE Capital Real Estate. In his new position, Smith will oversee the division's Principal Capital Group, institutional accounts, distributions operations and the Hawaii business unit. Smith will be based in Dallas and New York.

GREGORY T. MALONEY has been named executive vice president and director of shopping centers, Americas, for Chicago-based Jones Lang LaSalle. Maloney formerly served as the director of business development for Jones Lang LaSalle's retail group. Based in Atlanta, Maloney will oversee all shopping center retail strategies.
