Darrell Betts has joined Cushman & Wakefield's capital markets group as an executive director. Previously, he served as chief investment officer of Thompson National Properties and president of the firm's Middle East fund. Prior to joining Thompson in 2007, Betts served as senior vice president of Grubb & Ellis in the firm's institutional investment group.
Jesse Carrillo has been promoted to vice president and chief information officer at Hines. He will be responsible for directing Hines' worldwide technology strategy and standards. Carrillo joined Hines in 1994 as a consultant and was promoted to chief technology officer in 2007.
Mehran Foroughi has joined Colliers International as senior vice president. Previously, he served as senior vice president at Sperry Van Ness, where he consistently ranked among the firm's top 10 producers nationwide. Since 2006, he has closed $120 million in transactions.
David Simson has joined the New Jersey operation of Newmark Knight Frank as vice chairman. Previously, Simson served as cofounder, principal and president of GVA Williams of New Jersey where he was responsible for strategic planning and leadership of the operation.
