By most accounts, it looks like 1998 will go down as one of the most active office development periods in the 1990s. What a difference a few years makes, compared to the most dire of predictions in the early-1990s that many American office markets were so overbuilt it would take 30 years or more to fill all of the "see-throughs."

So now the question begs, was it too much? Probably only time will tell, but judging by the latest reports from leading brokerage firms and analysts, only a few markets will experience absorption problems of any real significance.
