Within days of breaking ground on a speculative office tower at 222 E. 41st St. in Manhattan, New York-based Tishman Speyer Properties had the entire building preleased. Legal firm Jones, Day preleased 210,000 sq. ft. - floors two through 11 - in the 375,000 sq. ft. Class-A building. Also at 222 E. 41st, Scient Corp. has preleased 165,000 sq. ft.

Jones, Day is relocating from 150,000 sq. ft. at 599 Lexington Ave. New York-based Julien J. Studley Inc. represented Jones, Day in the 15-year lease transaction. The building is scheduled to open in the fall of 2001 with occupancy slated for early 2002.
