Wilder Balter hopes Maple Hill's a sweet deal

Elmsford, N.Y.-based Wilder Balter Partners LLC has plans to develop Maple Hill Apartments, an $11.8 million, 94-unit affordable seniors housing community in Carmel, N.Y. Construction of the facility will begin this month, and occupancy is slated for July 2001.

Wilder Balter, which is building the facility with New York's Housing Action Council, will receive $1.2 million of federal Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTCs) as well as an $867,600 loan from the New York State Housing Trust Fund Corp.

The complex will feature 77 one-bedroom units, for which rents will range from $476 per month to $576 per month; and 17 two-bedroom units, for which rents will range from $569 per month to $689 per month.
