NEWTON, IL—Cobblestone Hotels, based in Neenah, WI, has broken ground on its first property in Illinois, in this city about equidistant from St. Louis, Indianapolis and Louisville, Ky.
The new Cobblestone Inn and Suites is being built here at Highway 3 and Gregory Drive. The property will have 36 guest rooms. The company has 21 hotels nationwide and plans locations at 35 other locations, with eight properties now in the building stages.
“Newton, Illinois is the ideal market to start our expansion into Illinois” says Brian Wogernese, president of the firm, in a statement. “As one of the fastest growing hotel brands in the United States we focus on small communities that have a great need for upper-midscale lodging.”
