HSA Plans $10M Hawthorn Surgery Center

VERNON HILLS, IL—HSA PrimeCare will break ground on March 1 on a 15,000-sq.-ft. specialty surgery center here at 240 Center Drive.

The Hawthorn Surgery Center will cost about $10 million to build, according to the company. The proposed ambulatory surgery treatment center will be fully leased to Hawthorn Surgical Associates, a subsidiary of Birmingham, Ala.-based Surgical Care Affiliates LLC, which is relocating its practice from an outdated facility in nearby north suburban Libertyville, Ill.

John Wilson, president of HSA PrimeCare, said the new center will feature three surgical suites, one procedure room and 14 recovery stations. “We’re very pleased to be working with Hawthorn Surgical Associates on the development of their new facility and in helping them to deliver on their goal of providing their patients with access to state-of-the-art surgical care,” Wilson said in a statement.
