McKinley Hired to Manage 39 Retail Centers

ANN ARBOR, MI—McKinley Commercial Client Services reports it was hired at the end of 2012 to manage a portfolio of 39 retail centers totaling 4.2 million sq. ft. in 39 states.

The properties primarily consist of grocery-anchored centers, ranging in size from 52,000 sq. ft. to 245,000 sq. ft. The 430 tenants include national chains such as Staples, Home Depot, Dollar Tree, Lowe’s and Ross Stores. The properties are in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.

The deal almost doubled the amount of business gained in 2012, and has boosted the firm to a total commercial portfolio of management of more than 21 million sq. ft. “We are thrilled to be chosen to manage this portfolio," said Matthew Mason, senior vice president and managing director of real estate at McKinley. He said in a statement that his teams are at the sites to begin the process of enhancing and maximizing the value of these assets. Mason did not divulge the owner of the properties. The centers had been owned by Developers Diversified until a sale in 2007.
