Cohen Financial secured a $12.2 million acquisition loan for Hannah Plaza, a 96,946-square-foot shopping center in East Lansing, Mich. Don Trossman, of Cohen Financial's Chicago office, negotiated this transaction.

Sperry Van Ness negotiated the sale of the Twin Lakes Shopping Center, a 312,826-square-foot retail property in Wichita, Kan., to IPS Twin Lakes Investors, LLC for $10.35 million. Sperry Van Ness' James W. Tucker and Dean Corey represented both the buyer and the seller, Coastal Wichita Retail, LLC, in the transaction.

Colliers International appointed Kevin Shea as vice president of business development. Shea is based in the firm's Southfield, Mich. office. He has 20 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry.

Von Maur has signed on to occupy 140,000 square feet of space at the Greene, a mixed-use project being constructed by Steiner + Associates in Columbus. The $200-million project will feature residential, retail, office, restaurant and entertainment uses. The first phase of the project opened in late August and Phase II, which will include Von Maur, is schedule to open in fall 2008.

Ikea has signed on to open a 339,000-square-foot store in West Chester Township, Ohio, just outside Cincinnati. The project is expected to open in fall 2007. It will be Ikea's first location in Ohio. It currently has stores in other Midwest cities including Chicago, Detroit and Pittsburgh.

CBL & Associates Properties is adding four upscale restauarants — Abuelo's, Claim Jumper, Flemings Steakhouse and Wine Bar and Mitchell‘s Fish Market to its Brookfield Square property near Milwaukee. In addition, specialty grocer Fresh Market will open at the 1.1-million-square-foot center. All the tenants are expected to come online in 2007.
