Panera, New Balance Take 72,500 SF in Office Park

SUNSET HILLS, MO—Two retailers have signed leases of about 72,500 sq. ft. at the Duke Realty-owned, mixed-use Laumeier Office Park here in this St. Louis submarket.

Panera Bread has expanded by almost 31,000 sq. ft. at the Laumeier I building, bringing the 116,277-sq.-ft. facility to 100-percent occupied. New Balance Athletic Shoe Inc. has taken 41,576 sq. ft. at Laumeier II. Duke Realty owns and manages approximately 290,000 sq. ft. in the three office buildings in Laumeier Office Park, which is adjacent to Laumeier Sculpture Park and the Plaza at Sunset Hills.

Whitaker Varley, vice president of leasing for Duke, represented ownership in the two transactions. Steve Schmid and Rick Dames with Cresa St. Louis represented Panera Bread in its expansion, while Kevin McKeon with NAI Desco represented New Balance Athletic Shoe in its new lease.

“We are pleased with the ongoing interest and leasing activity in the Sunset Hills submarket,” said Toby Martin, senior vice president of Duke Realty’s St. Louis operations, said in a statement. “The quality of these assets, the park’s accessibility via I-44 and I-270 and Duke Realty’s ability to exceed client expectations has resulted in strong leasing momentum which we anticipate continuing this year.”
