The Station on Washington Begins to Take Shape at U of Minn.

MINNEAPOLIS—The Opus Group has laid out its plans to develop The Station on Washington, a student residential and retail complex on the University of Minnesota’s East Bank campus. The company plans to begin construction this month with completion slated for next summer.

Located near the Central Corridor’s East Bank Station, The Station on Washington will be comprised of six stories with 11,200 sq. ft. of ground-level retail space and five floors of residential living space with 97 units and 156 bedrooms.

Units will offer students a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom living options. Amenities available to residents include underground parking, a fitness center, study lounge and on-site retail.

The project is fully entitled and endorsed by the Minneapolis City Council. Opus Design Build L.L.C. will serve as the contractor; Minneapolis-based Elness Swenson Graham Architects Inc. is serving as project architect. Opus AE Group Inc. will manage the structural engineering and interior design.
