Jones Lang LaSalle to Lease, Manage Hawaii Kai Towne Center

The Estate of Bernice Pauahi Bishop appointed Jones Lang LaSalle as the leasing and management agent for Hawaii Kai Towne Center, a 480,000-sq.-ft. mixed-use center in Honolulu.

The center was completed in 1993. It is currently 100 percent leased. Costco Wholesale, Ross Dress for Less and City Mill Home Improvement Center anchor the property.

John Stevens and Deven Higa will handle the leasing efforts on behalf of Jones Lang LaSalle. Jeanie Evans will serve as the center’s general manager and Alexandra Kirley will handle marketing.

Rue 21 Appoints Broker for Long Island Expansion

Rue 21 Inc. appointed Sabre Real Estate Group LLC as its exclusive broker for Long Island. The retailer plans to open from 12 to 14 stores in the area.

Rue 21’s stores range between 4,000 sq. ft. and 5,000 sq. ft.

Beth Lamport and Doug Bomzer will handle this assignment on behalf of Sabre Real Estate.

CBRE|Hampton Roads to Manage Spence Crossing in Virginia Beach

CBRE|Hampton Roads has been appointed as the leasing agent for Spence CrossingWalmart Way Crossing in Chesapeake, Va.

Chris Read and Ned Brooks will handle these assignments on behalf of CBRE|Hampton Roads.

JC Penney Comes to Willow Grove Park Mall

JC Penney will open a 126,000-sq.-ft. store at Willow Grove Park Mall in Willow Grove, Pa. The store will feature the first of the retailer’s brand shops collection, including Levi’s, Liz Clairborne, The Original Arizona Jean Co., IZOD, MNG by Mango, i jeans by Buffaloa and jcpa, as well as a 1,700-sq.-ft. Sephora.

Fitness 19 Opens Club at Thomas Winery Plaza in Rancho Cucamonga

Fitness 19 signed an 11-year lease with Thomas Winery Plaza Property Owner LLC for a 12,238-sq.-ft. facility at Thomas Winery Plaza in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. The fitness club plans to open its new location in the fourth quarter.

Janine Peltier, of Progressive Real Estate Partners, represented the landlord in the transaction. Thomas Graves, of Rainier Commercial Real Estate, represented Fitness 19.

Spec’s Wine Expands in Texas

Spec’s Wine, Spirits & Finer Foods signed three new leases in Texas.

The retailer signed a 12,000-sq.-ft. lease with One Emsee LLC at 2401 W. Parker Road in Hebron. Sam Gruner, of Hank Dickerson Co., represented the landlord in the transaction. It signed a 20,000-sq.-ft. lease with Memorial 121 Land Ltd. in The Colony. Tommy Crowell, of The Standridge Co., represented the landlord. The company also signed a 14,261-sq.-ft. lease with Big Tex Lowry Crossing Ltd. at 4100 East State Highway 380 in McKinney. Sam Gruner represented the landlord.

Jeff Brand, of Brand Capital Partners, and Jody Detmore, of SFP Brokerage, represented Spec’s in all three transactions.

Englewood Completes Two Retail Projects in Illinois

Englewood Construction completed a 5,000-sq.-ft. space reconfiguration for General Growth Properties at Water Tower Place in Chicago. The firm changed the interior layout and motif of an existing retail space to accommodate a new tenant. Shapiro Associates LTD served as the architect on the project.

Englewood also completed prep work for a 14,990-sq.-ft. JoAnne Fabric store at Peru Mall in Peru, Ill. on behalf of GK Development. ADA Architects Inc. was the architect on that project.

Other Notable News

Paragon Outlet Partners will open Paragon Outlet Partners Livermore Valley, a 543,000-sq.-ft. outlet center in Livermore, Calif. in November. Tenants at the center include Armani Outlet, Burberry, Coach Factory, DKNY, Hugo Boss, kate space and Prada, among others.

HomeGoods and PetSmart signed leases with JBG Rosenfeld Retail for a 25,000-sq.-ft. store and a 14,000-sq.-ft. store respectively at Market Square at Frederick in Frederick, Md. The development is now more than 60 percent leased.

Burberry, TAG Heuer and Wolford signed leases with Westfield Group for stores at Westfield Valley Fair in Santa Clara, Calif.

Colliers International South Florida hired Alan Chernin as vice president of retail services. Chernin has more than 30 years of experience in commercial real estate. Prior to joining Colliers, he operated his own company, Coordinated Real Estate Services Inc.

Sabre Real Estate Group LLC hired Melissa Naeder as director. In her new position, Naeder will assist retailers including Pet Valu, AT&T, Blink Fitness and Starbucks in their expansion in Long Island. Previously, she worked as director of leasing with Commercial Retail Associates.
