PRESS RELEASE: Metro 1 Commercial Bolsters Leasing Team

MIAMI, FL - Metro 1 brings aboard Alex Rey as a Senior Associate to the Metro 1 Commercial Real Estate team.

Rey brings his extensive experience in banking, finance, and asset/property management, having served as a trustee for the FDIC, bank president, and senior officer of a national developer.

Prior to joining Metro 1, Rey headed strategic accounts and partnerships for Credomatic of Florida, Inc., where he was the 2011 and 2012 Top Producer for the banking and credit card merchant services company, a subsidiary of The Grupo Aval, a $48 billion banking-financial services conglomerate. He has closed more than $250 million in real estate transactions.

Licensed as a Florida real estate broker since 1990, Rey worked closely with the Office of Community Development, The Moss Plan and Miami-Dade County on a range of affordable housing and economic development projects in South Miami-Dade County.  From 1992 to 2006, he advised the county on site, acquisition, disposition, entitlement, planning, financing, and development for several projects.  He also advised major institutions and businesses in the Caribbean and in Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties on a range of acquisitions and workouts.

Rey is a graduate of the Graduate National Commercial Lending School at the University of Oklahoma, School of Banking of the South at LSU, and is a Certified Commercial Lender.  He is also a member of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, where he serves as Vice Chair of the Banking and Financial Services Committee, and is an active member with the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce, the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Beacon Council’s One Community One Goal Banking Task Force.  Rey has traveled to and conducted business extensively in Latin America.

The addition of Alex Rey follows the hiring of Stacey Glassman Mizener, who joined the Metro 1 team in July as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development.

Stacey manages all aspects of marketing, public relations and business development, including strategy, messaging, partnerships and community relations for the firm.

Glassman served as the Associate Vice President of Development for the New World Symphony for nine years, fundraising, securing major sponsorships, raising money for the Capital Campaign for the Frank Gehry Campus, opening the New World Center and recruiting and managing the Friends Board and Executive Committee.  She is the Founder of the now famed young professional group, Friends of New World Symphony, developing a new base for community outreach, which is responsible for bringing significant revenue for the Symphony. Stacey is proud of her achievements, as the Friends program is flourishing with more than 600 members supporting the Symphony.  The Friends program is a model for membership groups and orchestras worldwide.
