Trademark to Handle Retail Leasing for Biltmore Park Town Square

A joint venture of Biltmore Farms LLC and Crossland LLC appointed Trademark as a retail leasing agent for Biltmore Park Town Square, a 1-million-square-foot mixed-use center in Asheville, N.C.

The $204 million center features 276 residences, 285,000 square feet of retail and restaurants, 270,000 square feet of class-A office space and a 165-room Hilton hotel. A 57,000-square-foot Regal Cinemas, an REI store and Barnes & Noble anchor the retail component.

“Ever since we visited their Market Street – The Woodlands town center, we have been impressed with their thoughtful merchandising and place-making focus,” said Jack Cecil, president of Biltmore Farms LLC, in a statement about Trademark’s appointment.

CPEX to Handle Laundromat Expansion

The Hennessy Group appointed CPEX Real Estate to handle an aggressive expansion campaign for Super Sized Laundromats throughout the New York metropolitan area. The company plans to open three to five stores in 2010 and up to 15 stores in 2011. Super Sized Laundromats average approximately 5,000 square feet.

Metro Commercial Brings Four New Tenants to Pennsylvania’s Darby Center

Metro Commercial Real Estate Inc. negotiated four leases totaling 33,113 square feet at Darby Town Center in Darby, Pa. Save-A-Lot signed a 17,000-square-foot lease for an anchor location. In addition, Dollar Tree signed a 10,000-square-foot lease, Hair World signed a 3,961-square-foot lease and Popeye’s signed a 2,152-square-foot lease.
Mike Murray and Brian Goodwin, of Metro Commercial, serve as exclusive leasing agents for the 142,000-square-foot property on behalf of MacDade-Darby Development. Darby Town Center recently underwent a $10 million redevelopment.

Three New Leases Signed at West Valley Mall

The management of West Valley Mall in Tracy, Calif., signed deals with three new retailers. Homelife Furniture agreed to take over a former Ross space for a 28,145-square-foot store. The retailer plans to open in early spring 2011. Eyebrow Plus signed a 1,470-square-foot lease and Tutti Frutti, a frozen yogurt bar, signed an 820-square-foot lease.

Two New Tenants Come to Courtland Center Mall

Planet Fitness signed a deal with Tucker Development Corp. for a 15,998-square-foot facility at Courtland Center Mall in Burton, Mich. In addition, Stephanye’s Flair, a clothing boutique, signed a 1,511-square-foot lease at the property.

Ollie’s Bargain Comes to River Plaza

Ollie’s Bargain Outlet signed a 29,423-square-foot lease at River Plaza in Union, N.J. Tracy Lauer, of Widewaters, represented Ollie’s Bargain in the transaction. Dale Mulartrick, of Levin Management Corp., represented the landlord. The retailer plans to open its doors in September 2011.

Toby Keith’s Bar & Grill to Open at City Center at Oyster Point

CRGE Newport News LLC signed a long-term agreement with City Center at Oyster Point in Newport News, Va. to open a Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill at the property. The restaurant will occupy approximately 17,000 square feet and is scheduled to open in late 2011. Harvey Lindsay Commercial Real Estate negotiated this transaction.

Miami Hotel Project to Feature Retail, Restaurant Space

Hospitality Operations Inc. will deliver 10,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space at part of its Hampton Inn & Suites Miami Brickwell-Downtown project in Miami. The property is slated to open in the fall of 2011. Hospitality Operations appointed brokerage firm Koniver Stern Group as the retail leasing agent for the project.

Other Notable News

ING Clarion Partners appointed Timothy Guy, Dean B. Rostovsky and Onay S.P. Payne as directors. Previously, all three served as senior vice presidents. Guy is responsible for overseeing several private market portfolios, with a focus on investors from the Middle East. Rostovsky is assistant portfolio manager for one of the firm’s private equity funds. Payne is assistant portfolio manager for a private equity fund investing in Mexico.

Federal Realty Investment Trust hired Lance Billingsley as director of anchor tenant leasing. In his new position, Billingsley will be responsible for leasing properties in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic regions. He will be based in the company’s Wynnewood, Pa. office. Billingsley has more than 20 years of experience in retail real estate. Prior to joining Federal Realty, he served as vice president of leasing and development with Brandolini Cos.

Colliers International hired Paul Choukourian as managing director for the Detroit region. In his new position, Choukourian will oversee the firm’s offices in Detroit and Ann Arbor, Mich. Choukourian has 20 years of experience in the real estate industry. Prior to joining Colliers International, he served as director of leasing and market development with KIRCO.

JBG Rosenfeld Retail hired Robin Mosle as executive vice president of development and leasing. Mosle has 25 years of experience in retail real estate. Prior to joining JBG Rosenfeld, she served as executive vice president with Samuels & Associates LLC.

Jones Lang LaSalle hired Cedric Thurman as senior vice president in its corporate retail solutions practice. In his new position, Thurman will be responsible for enhancing the firm’s ability to deliver profit-enhancing strategies. Previously, Thurman worked as a chief diversity officer with the firm.

Pine Tree Commercial Realty appointed Thomas Seurynck as vice president of acquisitions and due diligence. Prior to joining Pine Tree, Seurynck served as senior investment associate and credit/underwriting manager with Wrightwood Capital.

CB Richard Ellis Group Inc. appointed David Rabin as special outside counsel for its global corporate services (GCS) business. In his new position, Rabin will provide legal counsel on global GCS contracts and on special projects related to global risk issues. Previously, he worked as a partner with K&L Gates LLP. CBRE also hired Jose Antonio Lobon as a financial analyst with its capital markets group. Lobon has more than eight years of experience in commercial real estate. Prior to joining CBRE, he worked as a senior analyst in the realty services department of The Situs Cos.

BLUERIDGE Analytics appointed Mike Markovitz as executive vice president of business development. In his new position, Markovitz will lead the expansion of domestic and international reseller channels for SITEOPS, patented web-based software that optimizes site layout and grading. Previously, he served as vice president of portfolio development with Bentley Systems Inc.

Coyote Management L.P. hired Carolyn Snider as senior leasing specialist. Snider has more than 18 years of experience in retail real estate. Prior to joining Coyote Management, she served as a leasing representative with The MGHerring Group.

Woolbright Development appointed Stuart Segall as a leasing agent. Segall will be responsible for leasing shopping centers in Tampa, Brandon and Tallahassee, Fla. Previously, Segall worked at Florida Retail Partners.

Portfolio Property Management Global appointed Hope Hamilton as property manager for South Tryon Square, a 725,809-square-foot mixed-use property in Charlotte, N.C. In her new position, Hamilton will oversee daily management operations for two office building and a mixed-use facility featuring retail, enclosed parking and a hotel. Prior to joining Portfolio Property Management, she worked as a general manager with Jones Lang LaSalle Americas Inc.

Tango Management Consulting LLC hired Shaofei Chen as senior geospatial research analyst. Chen is currently completing his Ph.D. at the University of Texas at Dallas. He specializes in spatial optimization, spatial statistics and remote sensing.
