MAHWAH, NJ—Ascena Retail Group Inc. and dressbarn have broken ground on a new 195,000-sq.-ft. North American headquarters at 933 MacArthur Boulevard in Mahwah, N.J. It is the first headquarters facility in the state to receive incentives under the Economic Development Authority’s Grow New Jersey Assistance Program.
The project includes the renovation of the original 145,000-sq.-ft. office building at the site in addition to the construction of a new 50,000-sq.-ft. office building next to the existing facility. Upon completion, the space will include a glass curtain wall system, a glass atrium, full-service café, fitness center and rooftop garden.
The company also plans to pursue LEED certification for the property.
“The decision by Ascena Retail Group and dressbarn to make this long-term investment in New Jersey demonstrates how Governor Christie’s economic policies continue to generate business investment and job creation in the Garden State,” said Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno. “The company’s new North American headquarters facility will bring more than 400 jobs to Mahwah, further advancing economic development in the area’s surrounding communities.”
Jones Lang LaSalle will serve as project manager for the renovation and expansion of the facility.
