Developer Commits to Helping Rebuild Jersey Shore with New Company Division

NEW JERSEY—The Walters Group, a multifamily developer based in New Jersey, has created a new division of its firm aimed to help Jersey Shore residents rebuild after Hurricane Sandy. The company is providing support and services to residents as they begin to rebuild.

“Our team wants to help the people who live in our community recover and rebuild,” said Ed Walters, Jr., founder and partner of Walters Group. “We want to do our part to get this region back on its feet.”

According to estimates from Consumer Federation of America, the effects of Hurricane Sandy could lead to up to 200,000 wind damage claims and an additional 200,000 flood damage claims throughout the Northeast.

By working with VanDyk Group, a real estate and insurance services firm, The Walters Group will work to assess storm damage and expedite remediation work. The firm is helping with permitting issues, architectural plans and financing.
