NAIOP NJ to Host Two-Part Seminar in East Rutherford on April 12

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ—On Friday, April 12, NAIOP New Jersey will present a two-part seminar focusing on key topics in the current marketplace, including FEMA’s revised flood maps and legal matters for commercial real estate brokers.

In the first portion of the day, Richard Burrough of Langan Engineering and Environmental Services will focus on FEMA’s revised flood maps and will discuss rules and regulations for building in flood zones, site mapping, flood mitigation, financial issues and more. A panel of experts, including Dave Gibbons of Elberon Development Co., Dr. Jon Miller of Stevens Institute of Technology, James Rhatican of Wolff and Samson and Joe Romano of Langan, will discuss flood-related design, tenant, survey and legal issues.

In addition, Andrew Houston of Cassidy Turley will discuss the duties, rights and liabilities of parties involved in transactions, focusing on definitions, obligations, acceptable practices and potential violations, and disclosure requirements. Attorney Rhatican will cover the important legal aspects of transactions, including broker agreements and agreements of sale, as well as lead attendees through a mock negotiation.

The program will take place at the Sheraton Meadowlands in East Rutherford. Attendees can earn up to four CEU credits.
