Ocean Health Initiatives Unveils Newly Renovated Lakeside Facility

NEW JERSEY—Ocean Health Initiatives has reopened its newly renovated Lakewood medical facility, located on Second Street in Lakewood. The renovation included the addition of two stories equipped with 20 exam rooms, administrative area and 8,000-sq.-ft. OB/GYN and pediatric wing. In total, renovations added approximately 16,000 sq. ft. to the Lakeside facility.

As a result of the expansion, OHI will have the ability to extend service hours, add primary care services and provide care to more patients. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act’s Facility Investment Program provided $4.7M to fund a portion of the renovation.

A grand reopening and ribbon cutting provided a first-hand look at the improvements for Senator Robert Menendez; Congressman Chris Smith, Senator Robert W. Singer and Lakewood Mayor Menashe Miller.

Designated a Federally Qualified Health Care Center nine years ago, OHI has grown to include three locations and a Mobile Medical Unit, which travels throughout Ocean County to increase access and provide primary and preventive care.
