Atlanta – While the energy crisis may be having a negative impact on some retailers, the locally based Home Depot is seeing some advantages. The number one home improvement retailer recently reported strong sales of items that reduce home energy consumption.
In the first five months of 2000, sales of insulation products, energy-efficient lighting and solar-reducing window treatments have skyrocketed. Home electricity generators have also seen strong sales growth compared to last year. For example, generator sales are up more than 100% in California, according to the company.
