PEGGY BINZEL has been appointed CEO for Atlanta-based CoreNet Global, an industry association formed from the merger of the International Development Research Council (IDRC) and the International Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives (NACORE). Binzel formerly was executive vice president for the National Cable & Telecommunications Association.

JAMES ORTH has been selected as director of portfolio management for Chicago-based Cohen Financial. Orth will oversee property managers and leasing agents in the investment management unit, and will focus on assets acquired through real estate investment funds controlled by Cohen Financial. Orth recently was vice president of commercial development at Urban Trust Chicago.

JASON FRIEDLAND has joined Florham Park, N.J.-based Kushner Cos. as vice president of acquisitions. He will be responsible for continuing Kushner's aggressive expansion of residential and commercial real estate holdings, especially in the Northeast. Friedland worked most recently as an investment banker at New York-based Bear Stearns & Co.

SCOTT LIMPERT has been appointed senior vice president of operations for Transamerica Real Estate Tax Service. Limpert has worked with Transamerica for 12 years, most recently as vice president of Transamerica Real Estate Tax Service. In his new position, he will direct loan processing and property database activities, as well as the central and field operations of the Dallas-based firm.
