Family Dollar reports store openings

Matthews, N.C. – Locally based Family Dollar Stores Inc. recently reported opening 36 new stores during the four-week period ended August 4, 2001. With these additional stores, the company now operates 4,096 stores.

The 36 newest store locations are in the following states: five in Ohio; four in Texas; three each in Alabama and New York; two each in Arizona, Florida, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico and Tennessee; and one each in Arkansas, Connecticut, Illinois, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and South Carolina.
